PARIS, April 4 — A French- and a Japanese-owned vessel were among a few ships to cross the war-hit Strait of Hormuz on Thursday, maritime tracking data showed, marking the first transit since the conflict began.
KUALA LUMPUR, April 4 — Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook has urged all public transport users to remain vigilant and follow safety guidelines to prevent accidents. The reminder came after a passenger fell onto the Kelana Jaya LRT tracks at Abdullah Hukum Station yesterday evening.
“I was informed of an incident where a passenger fell onto the LRT tracks at Abdullah Hukum Station, triggering the Platform Intrusion Emergency Stop (PIEC) system as a train approached,” Loke wrote on Facebook last night.
He added, “I’m grateful that the passenger was rescued safely and that the emergency safety system worked as intended.”
Loke also thanked the Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), the Civil Defence Force (APM), and Prasarana Malaysia Berhad staff for their swift and professional response. He expressed appreciation to other passengers for their patience and cooperation during the rescue operation.
Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd (Rapid Rail) earlier reported that the Kelana Jaya Line LRT service, which was interrupted at 6.09 pm due to the incident, resumed at 6.59 pm. The rescued passenger was taken to Kuala Lumpur Hospital. — Bernama
