KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 23 — Two foreign nationals have become the first individuals in Malaysia to be charged in court for littering under the newly enforced anti-littering law, according to a report by The Star.
JAKARTA- 22 NOV - Bank Indonesia (BI) Deputy Governor Juda Agung announced that the central bank will freeze accounts linked to online gambling in collaboration with payment service providers. Providers are required to use fraud detection systems to identify suspicious accounts,which must be reported to BI for further action. So far, BI has frozen 7,500 accounts and continues to educate the public about the risks of online gambling through television and social media.
Meanwhile, Communication and Digital Affairs Minister Meutya Hafid shared that 651 requests to block accounts involved in online gambling were submitted this month. Since November 4, 2024, the online gambling eradication desk has taken down 104,819 gambling sites, with around 380,000 removed since October 20. Efforts are ongoing to work closely with banks to curb online gambling activities.
