CHINA - 22 NOV - China is emerging as a global leader in the digital industry, ranking second worldwide in internet development, according to the World Internet Development Report released at the 2024 World Internet Conference in Zhejiang. Over the past 30 years, the country has advanced its cyber ecosystem, digital economy, and cyber security while strengthening international cooperation. Notably, China's digital culture industry, including online videos, live streaming, gaming, and literature, has grown rapidly, with the online audiovisual market reaching 1.15 trillion yuan and domestic gaming generating 303 billion yuan in sales by the end of 2023.

Chinese digital cultural products are also making a global impact. For example, the mythology-inspired game Black Myth: Wukong earned over $1 billion in sales, and the science fiction series Three-Body reached audiences in 190 countries. Technologies like AI-driventranslation are helping Chinese online literature reach millions globally, promoting cultural diversity and integration. Experts highlight that the digital culture industry is now a cornerstone of China's cultural sector, blending traditional culture with modern technology for global accessibility.
