BANGKOK, Feb 17 — A large LED screen collapsed during a cultural event in Yasothon province on Saturday, injuring Deputy Minister of the Interior Sabida Thaiseth and two Members of Parliament (MPs). The incident occurred at 2:48 PM on February 15 during the unveiling of the "King of the Quail" statue at the government center's sports field in Leng Nok Tha district.

Over 3,000 dancers were performing when a sudden whirlwind caused the screen to topple onto the dignitaries seated in the front row. Minister Sabida sustained minor injuries but continued with the event, later receiving medical evaluation confirming no serious harm. Yasothon MP Thanaphat Srichana suffered a dislocated cervical spine and was transferred to Sunpasitthiprasong Hospital in Ubon Ratchathani for further treatment. Another MP, Sutthichai Jaroonnetr from Ubon Ratchathani, sustained minor injuries and is recovering at a private hospital.

Preliminary investigations suggest that strong winds led to the collapse of the LED screen. Authorities have suspended all stage performances and initiated an inquiry to determine the cause and accountability for the incident.

This event underscores the importance of stringent safety measures during public gatherings to prevent similar accidents in the future.
