LONDON – 10 JAN - Everton secured a 2-0 victory over Peterborough in the FA Cup third round, just hours after parting ways with manager Sean Dyche. Dyche’s dismissal came as the club’s new owners, the Friedkin Group, reportedly engaged former Everton boss David Moyes about a potential return. Despite the abrupt managerial change, interim coach Leighton Baines and captain Seamus Coleman led the team to a much-needed win, with goals from Beto and Iliman Ndiaye.

The Toffees, currently 16th in the Premier League, have struggled this season, managing only three league wins. Dyche, who had kept the club in the top-flight since his appointment in 2023, faced mounting pressure over poor results and an uninspiring playing style. Everton now look to turn their fortunes around as they prepare for a new era under potential new leadership.
