LONDON, March 10 — Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca hit back at criticism of his team’s scrappy 1-0 win over Leicester, insisting that winning in the Premier League is far from a “PlayStation” game.

Marc Cucurella’s stunning second-half strike secured the victory, lifting Chelsea to fourth place. However, their lackluster first-half display led to boos from frustrated fans at Stamford Bridge.

Maresca defended Chelsea’s possession-based style, urging supporters to back the team. “Football isn’t PlayStation; every game is tough,” he said, emphasizing the challenge of competing at the top level.

Cole Palmer missed a first-half penalty and was substituted after struggling with illness, having not trained for two days. Despite his condition, Palmer insisted on playing, showing his commitment to Chelsea’s Champions League push.

Leicester, now six points from safety, suffered their 12th loss in 13 games. Manager Ruud van Nistelrooy praised his team’s performance but admitted they need luck to turn their season around. — AFP
