IPOH, April 3 — A high-speed chase in Bercham ended with a crash and the arrest of two men early this morning, after police found suspected drugs and cable theft tools in their BMW.

The incident began around 2.30am when a patrol unit spotted a suspicious vehicle. The driver ignored orders to stop and sped off, leading police on a pursuit through the neighbourhood.

Ipoh police chief ACP Najib Hamzah said the suspects drove recklessly before losing control and crashing into a roadside pole. Both were later apprehended with assistance from multiple police units.

A search of the vehicle uncovered substances believed to be methamphetamine (syabu) and equipment commonly used for cable theft.

The suspects, aged between 18 and 30, have been remanded as investigations continue under drug and related criminal laws.
