The Portuguese forward, who arrived only a day earlier, deftly lifted the ball into the net in the 72nd minute at the San Siro after collecting a through pass from fellow new signing Santiago Gimenez.

Tammy MILAN, Feb 6 — Joao Felix, on loan from Chelsea, propelled AC Milan into the Italian Cup semi-finals by netting his first goal for the seven-time European champions in yesterday’s 3-1 win over AS Roma. Abraham—on loan from Roma—bagged two first-half goals before Artem Dovbyk pulled one back for the visitors shortly after the break. However, Felix’s strike sealed victory and set up a potential Milan derby with Inter, who host Lazio in a fortnight for the right to meet Milan in April’s two-legged semi-final.

Felix was one of four late winter signings for Milan, joining Gimenez, midfielder Warren Bondo from Monza for €10 million, and Fiorentina loanee Riccardo Sottil. The 25-year-old had managed just one league goal at Chelsea since arriving from Atletico Madrid last summer. Meanwhile, Milan offloaded Ismael Bennacer to Marseille and Noah Okafor to Napoli, while former captain Davide Calabria went on loan to Bologna until the season’s end.
