BANGKOK - 23 JAN - The Malaysian Embassy in Bangkok is actively working with Thai authorities to locate Andy Jee Ying Kit, a 30-year-old Sarawakian reported missing since last week. Chargé d'Affaires ad interim of Malaysia to Thailand,Bong Yik Jui, stated that his team is coordinating with Andy's family, who confirmed he arrived in Bangkok on January 8. The consular team has also obtained a police report and passport details to assist in the search efforts.

Bong mentioned that the Thai authorities may require more time to verify Andy's entry record and investigate his disappearance. Andy's cousin had earlier taken to social media, appealing for help after he failed to return to work in Singapore on January 15. His phone has been disconnected, further heightening concerns. Andy was last known to have traveled to Bangkok for a holiday, but his failure to return has prompted a frantic search.
