KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 23 — Two foreign nationals have become the first individuals in Malaysia to be charged in court for littering under the newly enforced anti-littering law, according to a report by The Star.
NEW DELHI, 18 NOV - New Delhi, India’s capital, shifted schools to online instruction on Monday due to hazardous smog levels, which surpassed the World Health Organization's (WHO) recommended daily limit by 60 times. The smog, caused by insufficiently addressed issues despite government measures, severely impacts the health of vulnerable groups, including children and the elderly, contributing to thousands of early deaths annually.
According to IQAir, PM2.5 pollutant levels — harmful particles that enter the bloodstream and cause cancer — peaked at 921 microgrammes per cubic metre on Monday, far exceeding the WHO's safe limit of 15. Some monitoring stations recorded even higher levels, with one government-run station registering 1117 microgrammes, 74 times the recommended maximum.
