KUALA LUMPUR, March 8 — Malaysia’s world No. 6 women’s doubles pair, Pearly Tan and M. Thinaah, bowed out of the Orleans Masters badminton championships in France after a 15-21, 19-21 loss to China’s newly formed duo, Jia Yi Fan and Zhang Shu Xian, in the quarterfinals tonight.‍

KUALA LUMPUR, March 8 — Malaysia’s world No. 6 women’s doubles pair, Pearly Tan and M. Thinaah, bowed out of the Orleans Masters badminton championships in France after a 15-21, 19-21 loss to China’s newly formed duo, Jia Yi Fan and Zhang Shu Xian, in the quarterfinals tonight.

The top Malaysian women’s pair struggled against the world No. 42 Chinese team at the Super 300 tournament held at Palais des Sports.

In another setback for Malaysia, women’s doubles pair Go Pei Kee and Teoh Mei Xing also exited in the quarterfinals after a 13-21, 11-21 defeat to South Korea’s Kim Hye Jeong and Kong Hee Yong.

Meanwhile, national mixed doubles duo Hoo Pang Ron and Cheng Su Yin were forced to withdraw from their quarterfinal match against Indonesia’s world No. 10 pair, Rehan Kusharjanto and Gloria Widjaja, due to a suspected ankle injury sustained by Su Yin. — Bernama
