KUALA LUMPUR— Prime Minister and PKR President Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has officially adopted the Pandan parliamentary constituency following the departure of its former MP, Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli, from the party.

To manage the area, Anwar's senior political adviser and MIDA Chairman, Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz, has been appointed as the monitoring officer and government representative for Pandan. PKR Vice-President Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari stated that this restructuring—made at Anwar's request to accommodate Tengku Zafrul’s desire to be more active in Selangor politics—aims to reorganize the local party machinery and service centers. Tengku Zafrul will also oversee the neighboring Ampang constituency.

Amirudin emphasized that despite the sudden vacancies left by Rafizi and former Setiawangsa MP Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, party operations remain unaffected, drawing parallels to how PKR successfully navigated past defections in Gombak and Ampang. Tengku Zafrul closed the event by calling for grassroots unity and pledging his full commitment to serving the residents of both Pandan and Ampang.

Prime Minister and PKR President Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has taken charge of the Pandan parliamentary seat as its adopted constituency, stepping in after the departure of former Member of Parliament Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli from the party.
