Ronaldo Extends Al Nassr Contract Until 2026

RIYADH, Feb 11 — Cristiano Ronaldo has agreed to extend his contract with Al Nassr until June 2026, a club official confirmed. While the deal is set, the signing and official announcement are expected in the coming days.

The Portuguese star, who turned 40 last week, originally joined Al Nassr in January 2023. Since then, he has scored 82 goals in 90 matches. Last August, Ronaldo hinted that he might retire at the Saudi club, saying, “It’ll most likely happen with Al Nassr, where I feel happy.”

His move to Saudi Arabia, reportedly worth US$250 million, paved the way for other football superstars to join the Saudi Pro League. The country later secured hosting rights for the 2034 World Cup, reinforcing its sports and tourism ambitions.

Ronaldo remains a global icon, amassing 73.5 million YouTube subscribers since launching his channel in August. While he has yet to secure a Saudi league or continental title, he continues chasing records, nearing 1,000 career goals. — AFP
