WASHINGTON, July 1 — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to visit the White House next week for talks with President Donald Trump, as the U.S. intensifies efforts to secure a ceasefire in Gaza, a U.S. official confirmed on Monday.
BANGKOK, Feb 10 — Thailand’s Department of Employment (DoE) has intensified inspections of language schools in Bangkok’s Ratchada and Bang Na areas after arresting eight undocumented South Korean teachers.
DoE director-general Somchai Morakotsriwan said the crackdown aims to protect job opportunities for Thai workers. Foreigners seeking teaching positions must enter Thailand on a non-immigrant visa and apply for a work permit with the required documents.
Illegal teachers face fines of 5,000 to 50,000 baht and deportation, while schools hiring them may be fined up to 200,000 baht or even face jail time for repeat offenses.
The DoE encourages foreigners to check work permit requirements via the Labour Ministry’s hotline (1506) or the DoE’s hotline (1694), where English interpreters are available.
