WASHINGTON, July 1 — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to visit the White House next week for talks with President Donald Trump, as the U.S. intensifies efforts to secure a ceasefire in Gaza, a U.S. official confirmed on Monday.
WASHINGTON, Feb 13 — US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a lengthy and "highly productive" phone call, agreeing to begin immediate peace talks to end the Ukraine war—a move that could sideline Kyiv.
Trump announced on Truth Social that both leaders discussed Ukraine, the Middle East, artificial intelligence, and other key issues. He emphasized their commitment to "stop the millions of deaths" and confirmed that their teams would start negotiations right away.
The Kremlin echoed the sentiment, stating that the "time has come to work together" and that both sides see a long-term resolution within reach.
Trump also revealed plans to call Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to inform him of the discussion. Meanwhile, Putin stressed that any agreement must address the conflict’s root causes.
This diplomatic shift follows a recent prisoner swap and signals potential warming relations between Washington and Moscow. However, Ukraine’s future in these talks remains uncertain as global leaders watch closely. — AFP
