LOS ANGELES - 12 JAN - In Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles, a large-scale firefighting effort continued into Saturday as a wildfire expanded by an additional 1,000 acres overnight. Officials warned that worsening weather conditions over the next 72 hours could further intensify the blaze. Cal Fire's Todd Hopkins reported that while 11% of the fire had been contained, it had already burned over 22,000 acres, spreading into Mandeville Canyon and threatening the upscale Brentwood area, home to many celebrities.

Evacuation orders now affect 153,000 residents across Los Angeles, with 57,000 structures at risk. Additionally, 166,000 residents have been warned of potential evacuations. Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna confirmed the scale of the evacuation effort as authorities continue to monitor the situation.
