WASHINGTON, June 12 — The White House stated on Tuesday that President Donald Trump will not tolerate “mob rule,” as demonstrations against his immigration policies continue to spread across the U.S., despite a military-backed crackdown in Los Angeles.
KUALA LUMPUR, May 25 — National men’s doubles duo Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun avenged their Malaysia Masters 2023 heartbreak with a stunning victory over compatriots and 2022 world champions Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik to claim the 2025 title at Axiata Arena today.
Seeded fifth, Wei Chong-Kai Wun started strong, dominating the opening set with a 6-1 lead and capitalising on a series of unforced errors from fourth-seeded Aaron-Wooi Yik to close the set 21-12.
Aaron-Wooi Yik, ranked third in the world, rebounded in the second set with a more aggressive approach, leading 11-8 at the break before forcing a decider with a 21-15 win.
The deciding set was tightly contested early on, with both pairs level at 8-8, but Wei Chong-Kai Wun maintained composure and defensive solidity to pull ahead. A powerful smash from Wei Chong sealed the match 21-16 in a 50-minute showdown.
The victory marks Wei Chong-Kai Wun’s second title of the year, following their triumph at the Indonesia Masters 2025, where they defeated home favourites Fajar Alfian-Muhammad Rian Ardianto in straight sets.
It was also their third win in five meetings against Aaron-Wooi Yik and makes them the first Malaysian pair to win the Malaysia Masters men’s doubles title since Goh V Shem-Lim Khim Wah in 2013.
Wei Chong-Kai Wun take home US$37,525 (approximately RM159,000) in prize money, while runners-up Aaron-Wooi Yik earn US$18,050 (around RM76,000). — Bernama
