Anwar congratulates 13-year-old world roller freestyle champion, vows Sports Ministry backing

KUALA LUMPUR, June 24 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has extended a congratulatory contribution to 13-year-old Muhammad Iftikhar Firas Farid, who was recently crowned world champion in the Roller Freestyle Park Junior event in Montpellier, France.‍

KUALA LUMPUR, June 24 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has extended a congratulatory contribution to 13-year-old Muhammad Iftikhar Firas Farid, who was recently crowned world champion in the Roller Freestyle Park Junior event in Montpellier, France.

The contribution was handed over by Anwar’s political secretary, Chan Ming Kai.

Anwar highlighted the young athlete’s remarkable feat in defeating a four-time consecutive champion, adding to the pride of the nation. Muhammad Iftikhar is a student at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah in Kajang.

“Wishing Firas continued success in the sport. May this victory be a stepping stone for greater achievements on the international stage and bring honour to Malaysia,” Anwar shared in a post on X yesterday.

He also directed the Youth and Sports Ministry to support Muhammad Iftikhar’s development by providing training facilities and resources to help him progress further in the sport.
