KOTA TINGGI, April 20 — A 71-year-old man has been remanded for seven days until April 26 in connection with a shooting incident in Taman Kota Jaya that left three people dead yesterday.
KUALA LUMPUR, April 16 — Four armed suspects allegedly carried out a robbery at a gold shop along Jalan Tun Sambanthan here this morning, with estimated losses reaching RM9.7 million.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus said the group entered the premises at around 11am, brandishing two pistols before making off with jewellery, as reported by Sinar Harian.
“The suspects escaped with 21 trays of gold, weighing about 15 kilograms,” he said.
A three-minute CCTV clip that later went viral purportedly shows the helmeted robbers executing the heist and fleeing the scene within minutes. The shop’s security guard was also reported to have been assaulted during the incident.
In addition, a shotgun and a round of ammunition belonging to the guard were reported missing.
“The case is being investigated under Section 395/397 of the Penal Code,” Fadil said, adding that police are actively working to track down the suspects.
