Baby boy found abandoned in Pasir Puteh, Kelantan — wrapped in kain pelikat at bus stop

KOTA BHARU, Aug 5 — A newborn baby boy was discovered abandoned at a bus stop along Jalan Lama Kulim, near the Malaysian Fisheries Development Authority (LKIM) in Tok Bali, Pasir Puteh, around 1pm yesterday.

KOTA BHARU, Aug 5 — A newborn baby boy was discovered abandoned at a bus stop along Jalan Lama Kulim, near the Malaysian Fisheries Development Authority (LKIM) in Tok Bali, Pasir Puteh, around 1pm yesterday.

According to Pasir Puteh police chief Supt Zaizul Rizal Zakaria, the infant was found wrapped in a kain pelikat (sarong) and placed on the ground at the bus stop.

He said the baby was immediately taken to Tengku Anis Hospital for medical examination and treatment.

The case is currently being investigated under Section 317 of the Penal Code for child abandonment.
