KOTA TINGGI, April 20 — A 71-year-old man has been remanded for seven days until April 26 in connection with a shooting incident in Taman Kota Jaya that left three people dead yesterday.
HAMBURG, April 12 — Bayern Munich set a new Bundesliga scoring record yesterday, with Leon Goretzka’s 53rd-minute goal against St Pauli taking the league leaders to 102 goals for the season.
The strike surpassed the long-standing mark of 101 goals set by Bayern’s legendary 1971–72 side featuring Franz Beckenbauer, Gerd Müller and Uli Hoeneß.
After finding the net, Goretzka celebrated with his teammates as captain Manuel Neuer rushed to the bench to embrace and congratulate substitutes and coaching staff.
Jamal Musiala had earlier put Bayern ahead with a ninth-minute header that drew them level with the record.
Just a minute after Goretzka’s milestone goal, Michael Olise extended the record further, making it 103 goals.
Harry Kane, who has scored 31 league goals this season, started on the bench with the Champions League quarter-final second leg against Real Madrid in mind.
The league leaders, closing in on a record-extending 35th Bundesliga title, achieved the milestone with five matches still remaining.
Bayern remain the only club to have reached 100 goals in a Bundesliga season, having previously done so in 2019–20 when they finished with exactly 100. — AFP
