KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 29 — The Finance Ministry has issued an urgent alert over a bogus message circulating online that claims RON95 petrol will be rationed following subsidy rationalisation later this year.

The ministry said the post—featuring a suspicious link about RON95 subsidies—is entirely false and should be ignored.

Malaysians are advised to stay vigilant, avoid clicking unverified links, and confirm any information through official government channels.

Last month, Prime Minister and Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that RON95 will be priced at RM1.99 per litre for Malaysians once the subsidy rationalisation takes effect.
