KOTA TINGGI, April 20 — A 71-year-old man has been remanded for seven days until April 26 in connection with a shooting incident in Taman Kota Jaya that left three people dead yesterday.
LAWAS, April 9 — A government surveyor was injured after being hit by a falling tree while working in a forest in Kampung Murud Suang today.
Lawas Fire and Rescue Station (Bomba) chief Clarence D. Primus Tiandun said the 37-year-old man, from Kampung Berawan in Limbang, was discovered semi-conscious beneath the tree at about 12pm.
He said an emergency call was received at 12.04pm, prompting a team to be deployed immediately to the scene, which was 38 kilometres away.
“The team, together with Health Ministry personnel, administered initial treatment at the location.
“The victim was about 800 metres from the main road, across hilly terrain.
“He was first transported using a public four-wheel drive vehicle before being transferred to an ambulance at the main road and taken to Lawas Hospital,” he said in a statement. — The Borneo Post
