Foreign woman wielding two knives arrested after crashing into three motorcycles, injuring six pedestrians in Kajang

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 14 — A 24-year-old foreign woman has been arrested in Kajang after allegedly driving recklessly, colliding with three motorcycles, and attacking members of the public with a knife at a traffic light junction near a shopping mall yesterday.

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 14 — A 24-year-old foreign woman has been arrested in Kajang after allegedly driving recklessly, colliding with three motorcycles, and attacking members of the public with a knife at a traffic light junction near a shopping mall yesterday.

Kajang district police chief ACP Naazron Abdul Yusof said the incident was reported at 11.58am. Preliminary investigations found that the woman had been driving dangerously before stepping out of her vehicle and confronting bystanders while armed with two knives.

“She was apprehended with the assistance of the public and handed over to police for further action,” Naazron said in a statement, adding that the motive remains under investigation.

Six people aged between 21 and 60 were injured in the incident. Two were admitted to hospital for further examination, while four received outpatient treatment. Three motorcycles were also damaged.

Police will apply for a remand order under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code. The case is being investigated under Sections 307 and 279 of the Penal Code, as well as Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
