KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 25 — The Damansara-Shah Alam Elevated Expressway (DASH), including its elevated bends, was constructed in full compliance with approved specifications and certified by engineers, highway concessionaire Projek Lintasan Kota Holdings Sdn Bhd (Prolintas) said yesterday.

In a statement, the company stressed that the expressway’s design meets all required safety standards.

“Even though DASH complies with safety requirements, we have taken proactive steps such as putting up more warning signs at key locations, running public awareness campaigns, and planning to install additional barriers to further enhance safety,” it said.

Prolintas acknowledged two recent motorcycle crashes on the highway and urged motorists to observe speed limits and drive with caution, particularly along elevated and curved stretches.

The company said it had also submitted all relevant evidence, including CCTV recordings, to the authorities to aid investigations.

At 10.40am yesterday, a 19-year-old private college student was killed after his motorcycle allegedly skidded before plunging 21 metres from the elevated section of DASH at the 1/B 0.5 exit. — Bernama
