TOKYO, Jan 22 — Japan has halted the restart of the world’s largest nuclear power plant just hours after it began, though the reactor remains “stable,” the operator said.
PETALING JAYA, July 13 — Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail today confirmed that police have initiated an investigation into the alleged leak of minutes from a recent Judicial Appointments Commission (JAC) meeting.
In a statement released this evening, Mohd Khalid said the investigation will focus on the disclosure and distribution of classified information, both within internal networks and on social media platforms.
“All relevant witnesses will be called in to assist with the investigation,” he said.
He also cautioned the public against sharing any documents or information labeled as confidential, warning that strict action will be taken against those found involved.
Earlier, Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil announced that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will address the allegations of the leaked minutes with Cabinet members in a meeting next week.
An excerpt purportedly from the JAC’s May meeting minutes was reportedly leaked online.
Although the original Reddit post has been removed, screenshots are said to be circulating on other platforms, including Facebook and X.
The alleged leak follows closely on the heels of claims that there were efforts to influence judicial appointments — an issue that led nine government backbenchers to call for a Royal Commission of Inquiry.
