WASHINGTON, June 12 — The White House stated on Tuesday that President Donald Trump will not tolerate “mob rule,” as demonstrations against his immigration policies continue to spread across the U.S., despite a military-backed crackdown in Los Angeles.
KUALA LUMPUR, March 5 — Social media influencer and entrepreneur Abd Ridzuan Abdul Mutalib, popularly known as Ridz Okumura, has spoken out to address speculation surrounding the passing of his wife, Akiko Okumura, last Friday.
Ridz, 50, shared that his late wife had a habit of tidying up their home, especially in preparation for the fasting month of Ramadan, as reported by Berita Harian.
“My wife always wanted to clean and organize everything before Ramadan. I don’t know if she fell while tidying up... I just don’t know. I was already asleep that night,” he said during a TikTok live session, referring to himself as "abang."
He urged the public to refrain from making baseless assumptions about the incident.
“I hope everyone understands and stops speculating. The circumstances are already known,” he stated.
Describing her passing as a peaceful departure, Ridz noted that she died on a Friday, just before Ramadan.
“To me, she went straight to heaven, and she’s now a heavenly angel. Akiko never wronged anyone,” he said.
Recalling the tragic night, Ridz said he was awakened by a loud noise outside their condominium.
“I heard a sound like something falling, almost like an accident. Since our home is near a highway, such noises are common.
“Usually, my wife and I would check if something happened, but that night, I was too exhausted and went straight to bed,” he explained.
The next morning, he noticed Akiko had not prepared breakfast as usual, which made him uneasy.
“I went to our room and found the window open and damaged,” he recounted.
Upon further inspection, he climbed out through the window to the main bathroom and discovered Akiko lying face down on the ground.
“I didn’t hesitate and immediately asked the security guard to call an ambulance and the police,” he said.
Following Akiko’s passing, speculation arose on social media regarding reports that she had fallen from the fourth floor of a condominium in SS16, Subang Jaya, and whether her husband was involved.
Subang Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Azlan Wan Mamat confirmed that officers found a woman in her 50s lying face down at the scene after responding to a MERS 999 emergency call.
Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan later identified the woman as Akiko and classified the case as sudden death (SDR), stating that no foul play had been detected so far. However, a comprehensive investigation, including criminological aspects, is still ongoing.
Akiko’s funeral took place last Saturday at the USJ22 Muslim Cemetery in Subang Jaya.
Her sudden passing has deeply affected Ridz and their 13-year-old son, Sky Taizo Okumura.
Ridz and Akiko, originally from Japan, had been married since 2009.
