PETALING JAYA, June 5 — Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei has commended the National Heart Institute (IJN) for its outstanding medical care and expertise following his recent treatment there, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim revealed.

Anwar, who visited the Sultan at IJN before his return to Bandar Seri Begawan on Tuesday, said the monarch expressed deep gratitude for the professionalism and efficiency of the medical team.

“Despite being familiar with world-class healthcare, His Majesty was deeply impressed by the dedication and excellence shown by the doctors at IJN,” Anwar said.

Speaking at the Malaysia MADANI Scholars Forum Series 6 at Menara Prasarana last night, Anwar said the royal commendation should inspire the healthcare sector—and other industries—to continually improve rather than rest on past achievements.

“We must recognise our strengths while also looking ahead and striving to compete on a global level. Such recognition should drive us to do even better,” he added.

Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, 78, arrived in Malaysia on May 25 to attend the 46th ASEAN Summit and related meetings held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) on May 26 and 27.
