TOKYO, Jan 22 — Japan has halted the restart of the world’s largest nuclear power plant just hours after it began, though the reactor remains “stable,” the operator said.
JOHOR BAHRU, July 19 — Constable RG Devendran, one of the victims of the recent police helicopter crash, has been transferred from the intensive care unit (ICU) to the general ward at Sultanah Aminah Hospital (HSA) after being placed in a medically induced coma.
Johor Health and Environment Committee chairman Ling Tian Soon confirmed that Devendran, from the Iskandar Puteri District Police Headquarters, is now in stable condition and continues to receive treatment and rest in the general ward.
Ling also shared that air observer Corporal Adeline Liu Yan Siu, who had also been warded in the ICU, was discharged on Wednesday and is now undergoing follow-up treatment at Serdang Hospital.
Meanwhile, pilot ACP Faizul Mohammad and co-pilot Supt Ahmad Bustamin Baharom, who were receiving treatment at Serdang Hospital and Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz UKM, respectively, were both discharged on Tuesday.
Sergeant Siti Latipa Khairuddin of the Tanjung Kupang police station remains warded in HSA’s general ward.
Ling provided these updates during a press conference following the bed donation handover by the Fo Guang Shan Association at HSA’s Women’s Ward PP1 today.
The crash occurred on July 10 in Sungai Pulai, Gelang Patah, during the Multilateral Nuclear Security Detection Exercise (MITSATOM) 2025, a joint drill involving Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and Singapore at the Gelang Patah Maritime Jetty. — Bernama
