TOKYO, Jan 22 — Japan has halted the restart of the world’s largest nuclear power plant just hours after it began, though the reactor remains “stable,” the operator said.
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 10 — The Road Transport Department’s (JPJ) Ops Luxury 3.0, which concluded yesterday, uncovered multiple offences, including a case involving a foreign national driving a luxury car with what is believed to be a fake Malaysian driving licence.
JPJ Senior Enforcement Director Muhammad Kifli Ma Hassan said the individual was among nine foreigners caught driving high-end vehicles for various offences, such as lacking insurance and having expired road tax, during the operation that began last Thursday.
“The most serious offence was the possession of a counterfeit Malaysian driving licence by a foreigner from a South Asian country. JPJ will investigate further to determine how the document was obtained.
“We are not ruling out the possibility of a forgery syndicate being involved, and a comprehensive investigation will be carried out from all angles,” he told reporters today.
All nine foreigners were issued summonses, and JPJ will work with the Immigration Department and other relevant agencies to probe the matter. Muhammad Kifli stressed that no leniency would be given to anyone — including foreigners — who break traffic laws.
Ops Luxury focuses on luxury vehicles involved in traffic violations, and the latest operation saw 104 vehicles, including Ferraris, Range Rovers and Porsches, driven by both locals and foreigners, seized. — Bernama
