KUALA LUMPUR, March 30 — Sultan Ibrahim was today presented with the Online Safety Act 2025 (ONSA 2025) during an audience at Istana Bukit Tunku, according to a post on the King’s official Facebook page.
The briefing was delivered by Ahmad Fahmi Fadzil, who outlined the implementation of the act, which aims to create a safer online environment for families and children.
Key provisions include clearer accountability for online platforms and the introduction of age verification measures to prevent children under 16 from opening social media accounts, enhancing their protection online.
Fahmi also noted that the act will tackle fake accounts targeting the Malay Rulers and members of the royal family.
The session is part of ongoing engagements between the federal government and the King on governance and public safety matters.
