TOKYO, Jan 22 — Japan has halted the restart of the world’s largest nuclear power plant just hours after it began, though the reactor remains “stable,” the operator said.
KUALA LUMPUR, July 14 — Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) has rebranded its Integrated Ticketing System (KITS) as the KITS Style SuperApp, aiming to deliver a more efficient, safe, sustainable, and competitive transport ecosystem that enhances the quality of life for Malaysians.
Transport Minister Anthony Loke said the rebranding goes beyond just a ticketing upgrade. The KITS Style SuperApp now functions as a Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) platform, seamlessly integrating daily mobility with lifestyle features in a modern, interactive, and fully digital environment.
“KITS Style offers a wide range of services, including the purchase of ETS, KTM Komuter, and Shuttle Tebrau tickets; flight and hotel bookings; utility bill payments; vehicle insurance renewal; money transfers; online shopping; and travel planning with the help of the KITS AI Journey Planner,” he said during the app’s official launch last night.
Originally launched on August 17, 2020, KITS was KTMB’s online ticketing system. The new KITS Style app is a result of a strategic partnership between KTMB and ManagePay Systems Berhad (MPay), developed at no cost to KTMB or the government.
“This is a prime example of how a government agency can harness public-private partnerships to successfully deliver complex digital projects that benefit the people,” Loke added.
He also announced the upcoming launch of the KITS Style Mastercard Prepaid Card, developed in collaboration with Mastercard and MPay. It will be the first open-loop transit prepaid card in both Malaysia and the ASEAN region issued by a rail operator.
The virtual card is already available via the app, with the physical card set for release in September. Loke said the initiative would offer users greater convenience and security when using public transport across Malaysia and ASEAN. — Bernama
