KUALA TERENGGANU, Aug 1 — Two Turkish nationals are missing after their sailing yacht capsized in rough seas near Pulau Yu on Tuesday. A third person was rescued after drifting in the sea for 25 hours.

According to Terengganu Maritime director, Maritime Captain Hamiludin Che Awang, the yacht Daisy had departed from Pulau Tioman, Pahang, and was en route to Pattani, Thailand, when it overturned about 30 nautical miles off Pulau Yu.

"One individual, Ates Demiroren, was rescued by the crew of a local tugboat, while the yacht’s captain and another man are still missing," he said in a statement tonight.

A search and rescue operation was launched at 3pm today, with patrol vessel Perkasa 48 deployed to the area.
