LONDON, June 24 — Leeds United have strengthened their backline ahead of their Premier League return by signing Slovenian international centre-back Jaka Bijol from Udinese.

The 26-year-old joins for a reported fee of £15 million (RM86.4 million), becoming the club’s second signing of the summer following German striker Lukas Nmecha’s arrival on a free transfer.

Bijol brings significant experience at both club and international level. He has earned 63 caps for Slovenia and featured prominently at Euro 2024, helping his team hold England to a goalless draw in the group stage before a narrow penalty shootout loss to Portugal in the last 16.

“Probably the biggest day of my career so far, but I’m ready for it,” Bijol said in an interview with the club. “It’s a big challenge for me and the club, and we’re preparing for it together. I believe both the club and I are ready for the Premier League.”

Bijol spent the last three seasons in Serie A with Udinese, making 95 appearances, after a four-year stint with CSKA Moscow where he played in both the Champions League and Europa League.
