KOTA TINGGI, April 20 — A 71-year-old man has been remanded for seven days until April 26 in connection with a shooting incident in Taman Kota Jaya that left three people dead yesterday.
MELAKA, April 5 — The Melaka Water Regulatory Authority (BKSA), under the Chief Minister’s Department, has refuted viral claims on social media alleging water rationing in the state.
In a statement today, BKSA assured that the water supply remains stable and under control, although ongoing hot weather and lower rainfall in recent weeks have had a slight impact on raw water levels.
The state government, through BKSA and Syarikat Air Melaka Bhd (SAMB), is taking proactive steps to maintain a consistent supply. These include optimising operations at water treatment plants, making use of existing ponds and lakes, and strengthening continuous monitoring of raw water sources.
At the same time, efforts are being stepped up to minimise water losses by improving leak management and upgrading the distribution system.
BKSA emphasised that the government remains committed to sustaining these measures to protect the state’s water supply. The public is also encouraged to use water responsibly and avoid wastage, while relying only on official sources for information and refraining from sharing unverified claims. — Bernama
