WASHINGTON, Aug 25 — SpaceX has called off a scheduled test flight for its Starship megarocket on Sunday, citing the need for additional time to address issues, marking yet another setback for Elon Musk’s colossal project following a string of explosive failures.
KOTA SAMARAHAN, Aug 31 — The rollout of the Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (Sara) Appreciation Aid today saw normal activity at outlets in Kuching and Samarahan, with no unusually large crowds reported.
A check by The Borneo Post at Farley Kota Samarahan around 10am showed business as usual, with only a handful of shoppers using their MyKads to make purchases. Security staff confirmed that the number of customers was consistent with a typical Sunday.
Several shoppers took the opportunity to redeem the RM100 credit, including Rano Pangi, Chia Kim Fatt, and Aziah Zolkipli.
“This Sara is very helpful, especially now with higher prices. I used it to buy rice and cooking oil,” said Rano.
Chia described the redemption process as simple and convenient. “I couldn’t buy certain items, but it’s still good as it covers the basics,” he added.
Aziah shared that the assistance eased her family’s expenses. “It really helps a little with the cost of living,” she said.
The Sara Appreciation Aid provides a one-off RM100 credit to all Malaysians aged 18 and above via their MyKad. The credit, usable until Dec 31, 2025, is limited to essential goods under approved categories and redeemable at participating outlets.
The first day of implementation in Kuching was calm and orderly, with no major disruptions reported. — The Borneo Post
