KUALA LUMPUR, June 19 — Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected to affect Kuala Lumpur and 10 states across Malaysia until 7pm today, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).

KUALA LUMPUR, June 19 — Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected to affect Kuala Lumpur and 10 states across Malaysia until 7pm today, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).

In a statement, MetMalaysia said the warning covers several districts in Kedah, namely Pokok Sena, Padang Terap, Pendang, Sik and Baling.

In Perak, the affected areas are Larut, Matang and Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang and Muallim.

Similar weather conditions are forecast in Kelantan, involving Kota Bharu, Bachok, Machang and Pasir Puteh, as well as in Terengganu, covering Kuala Nerus, Hulu Terengganu, Kuala Terengganu, Marang and Dungun.

In Pahang, the warning applies to Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Bentong, Temerloh and Bera.

For Selangor, the affected districts are Hulu Selangor, Gombak, Petaling and Hulu Langat, while in Johor, the warning covers Segamat, Kluang and Mersing.

MetMalaysia also issued the same warning for parts of Sarawak, involving Betong, Sarikei (Pakan, Sarikei and Meradong), Sibu and Mukah (Tanjung Manis, Daro and Matu), as well as Sabah, covering the Interior (Tambunan), the West Coast and Kudat. — Bernama
