PARIS, June 21 — France is set to hold its annual street music festival on Sunday under extreme heat conditions, with about a third of the country placed under the highest-level heat warning and alcohol consumption banned in affected areas.
GEORGE TOWN, June 21 — The Penang government has approved RM129,900 under its Youth Development Fund this year to support 68 youth programmes organised by 48 associations across the state.
State Youth, Sports and Health Committee chairman Daniel Gooi Zi Sen said the allocation forms part of a larger RM200,000 provision under the Youth State Executive Council Meeting.
He said the funding is aimed at developing initiatives in areas such as skills training, employability, volunteerism and leadership.
“The funds are not merely financial assistance but a form of trust given to youth associations to turn ideas, creativity and initiatives into programmes that create real impact on society,” he said in a statement.
Gooi also reminded recipient organisations to carry out their programmes with integrity, transparency and efficient management to ensure objectives are achieved.
He added that success should not be measured only by the number of activities conducted, but also by the long-term impact on participants and the wider community. — Bernama
