WASHINGTON, June 12 — The White House stated on Tuesday that President Donald Trump will not tolerate “mob rule,” as demonstrations against his immigration policies continue to spread across the U.S., despite a military-backed crackdown in Los Angeles.
KUALA LUMPUR, March 2 — Amendments to the EPF Act 1991 to make foreign worker contributions mandatory are expected to be tabled in Parliament before the Dewan Rakyat sitting ends on Thursday.
EPF CEO Ahmad Zulkarnain Onn said contributions are currently voluntary, but once the amendment passes, up to 2.5 million foreign workers will be covered under the scheme. Both workers and employers are expected to contribute 2% each, with details to be announced in the coming months.
He noted that automation and digital tools would streamline the implementation process. The amendment aims to ensure fair treatment for all workers, aligning with international standards.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim first announced the mandatory EPF contribution for foreign workers during the 2025 Budget presentation last October. — Bernama
