KUALA LUMPUR, July 29 — National women’s doubles duo Pearly Tan-M. Thinaah reached a career-high world No. 2 in the latest BWF rankings released today.

They climbed one spot with 89,416 points, behind China’s Liu Sheng Shu-Tan Ning, who lead with 111,634 points.

The last Malaysian women’s pair to reach a similar ranking was Chin Eei Hui-Wong Pei Tty in 2009.

National pair Go Pei Kee-Teoh Mei Xing also entered the top 20, moving up two spots to 20th with 45,090 points.

In men’s doubles, Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik remained second with 94,950 points, behind South Korea’s Kim Won Ho-Seo Seung Jae with 99,405 points.

Professional duo Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani dropped one position to fourth with 80,980 points.

In mixed doubles, Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei moved up to third with 85,013 points, while Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai Jemie fell two spots to eighth with 72,998 points, and Hoo Pang Ron-Cheng Su Yin slipped to 16th from 13th with 52,363 points.

Men’s singles player Leong Jun Hao rose two spots to 24th with 46,551 points, while Lee Zii Jia, still recovering from injury, dropped to 35th with 38,890 points.
