WASHINGTON, June 12 — The White House stated on Tuesday that President Donald Trump will not tolerate “mob rule,” as demonstrations against his immigration policies continue to spread across the U.S., despite a military-backed crackdown in Los Angeles.
KUALA LUMPUR, March 7 — Malaysia and Thailand remain committed to achieving shared success and advancing regional prosperity within ASEAN, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
In a Facebook post, Anwar shared that he had a phone conversation with his Thai counterpart, Paetongtarn Shinawatra, where they discussed several key bilateral issues.
“These included border matters, such as developments at Sungai Golok, where the Thai government has pledged funding for post-flood recovery projects. We also explored strengthening cooperation on water flow control to mitigate flood risks and implementing new flood management initiatives for coastal protection,” he said.
Additionally, both leaders addressed commitments to the peace dialogue process in southern Thailand, including the appointment of a new chief negotiator.
In a separate post, Anwar underscored the importance of strong collaboration between the federal and state governments to ensure the well-being of the people.
He highlighted this during individual meetings with Perlis Menteri Besar Mohd Shukri Ramli, Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor, Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail, and Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow.
"I reminded them that all short- and long-term planning must prioritize the people’s welfare, focusing on development while upholding humanitarian values. Governance should be just, laws must be enforced fairly, and transparency must be maintained," he stated.
Anwar also revealed that he had received an official invitation from the Perlis Menteri Besar to attend the Silver Jubilee Celebration of the reign of His Royal Highness Raja of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Tuanku Syed Putra Jamalullail, on April 17. — Bernama
