KUALA LUMPUR, June 23 — The Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) has convened a board of inquiry to investigate the cause of a landing incident involving a CN235-220M aircraft in Kuching, Sarawak, earlier today.

The aircraft experienced a nose landing gear malfunction while landing at Kuching International Airport at approximately 11.15am, following a logistics flight from Labuan and Kota Kinabalu.

All personnel on board were unharmed, and the RMAF confirmed that everyone is safe.

The incident drew public attention after images of the grounded aircraft began circulating on social media.

Investigators will look into the mechanical failure and assess the safety procedures followed during the flight.

The runway at Kuching International Airport (KIA) has been temporarily closed to allow for the removal of a Royal Malaysian Air Force aircraft and cleanup operations, following an incident involving the aircraft at 11.30am today. — Bernama photo
