LONDON, July 3 — Former world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury is set to come out of retirement and return to the ring in 2026, according to Turki Alalshikh, chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority.

Fury, 36, announced his retirement in January after losing his rematch for the WBA (Super), WBO, and WBC world heavyweight titles to Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk.

“The ‘Gypsy King’ will be back!!! I spoke with him, and he gave me his word — he’ll fight during Riyadh Season in 2026 ... We have a rabbit to hunt!” Alalshikh wrote on social media, sharing a photo of himself shaking hands with Fury.

Fury, who has fought his last three bouts in Saudi Arabia, responded to the post with: “Let’s see what 2025 brings,” followed by dollar signs, a winking face, and laughing emojis.

Speaking at an International Boxing Association event in Istanbul on Wednesday, Fury told reporters that if he were to return, his top choice would be a trilogy fight with Usyk.

“Who would I rather fight right now? Usyk. Because I want my revenge in England,” he said.

“I don’t believe I got a fair chance the last two times. That’s all I want — a fair shot.”

He added that if the Usyk fight didn’t happen, he’d consider facing Anthony Joshua, calling it “the biggest British fight that will ever happen.” — Reuters
