WASHINGTON, June 12 — The White House stated on Tuesday that President Donald Trump will not tolerate “mob rule,” as demonstrations against his immigration policies continue to spread across the U.S., despite a military-backed crackdown in Los Angeles.
SINGAPORE, May 30 — Malaysia’s national mixed doubles team, Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei, fell short of delivering a perfect day for the Malaysian contingent at the Singapore Open yesterday, losing in the second round to Taiwanese pair Ye Hong Wei and Nicole Gonzales Chan.
The world number four duo, who reunited after a brief split following the All England 2025 tournament in Birmingham last March, were defeated 18-21, 18-21 in a 39-minute match against the world number 21 pair at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
The Malaysian pair appeared visibly disappointed with the outcome, acknowledging they made several errors throughout the match.
“Today, we made many mistakes. Our opponents played better, but we were not at our best,” Tang Jie told Bernama. Ee Wei, meanwhile, declined to attribute the loss to their recent split and said their focus is now on the upcoming Indonesia Open next week.
Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei will kick off their Indonesia Open campaign at Istora Senayan against the Indian duo Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto.
“We will give our best effort. Of course, like every player, we aim to win,” Ee Wei added.
Earlier, five Malaysian pairs — Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani, Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik, Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun (men’s doubles), Pearly Tan-M. Thinaah (women’s doubles), and Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai Jemie (mixed doubles) — advanced to the quarterfinals, alongside men’s singles player Leong Jun Hao. — Bernama
