ANKARA, April 14 — A teenage gunman injured at least 16 people, including students and teachers, after opening fire at a school in Turkey’s southeastern Sanliurfa province, Governor Hasan Sildak said on Tuesday.

The 19-year-old former student carried out the attack using a rifle, with the injured taken to a hospital in the Siverek district. Twelve victims remain hospitalised.

Sildak added that the suspect took his own life when police attempted to apprehend him at the scene. — Reuters
