TOKYO, Jan 22 — Japan has halted the restart of the world’s largest nuclear power plant just hours after it began, though the reactor remains “stable,” the operator said.
KUALA LUMPUR, July 15 — A 21-year-old foreign man has been arrested for allegedly attacking his 20-year-old ex-girlfriend with a knife at a private university in Subang Jaya, Selangor.
Subang Jaya district police chief ACP Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said in a statement last night that the suspect was apprehended shortly after the incident, which occurred yesterday evening.
Police received a report about the attack around 6.30pm. Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim, also a foreign national, sustained slash wounds to the left side of her neck.
She was rushed to the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (PPUM) emergency department and treated in the red zone. Her condition is now reported to be stable.
Wan Azlan confirmed that the attacker is the victim’s former boyfriend. The motive for the attack is still under investigation.
The case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt using dangerous weapons or means. If convicted, the offender could face up to 10 years in prison, a fine, whipping, or any combination of these penalties.

The name of the university involved was not disclosed.
