TOKYO, Jan 22 — Japan has halted the restart of the world’s largest nuclear power plant just hours after it began, though the reactor remains “stable,” the operator said.
SINGAPORE, Aug 1 — China’s Yu Zidi became the youngest-ever medallist at the 2025 World Aquatics Championships at just 12 years old.
She claimed bronze as part of China’s 4x200m freestyle relay team, having competed in the heats to help secure the team’s spot in Thursday’s final.
Although she did not swim in the final, her performance in the preliminaries earned her a place on the podium under official rules.
Australia won gold in 7:39.35, followed by the US (7:40.01) and China (7:42.99).
Earlier in the week, Yu narrowly missed out on individual medals, placing fourth in the 200m butterfly and 200m medley — falling short of bronze by just 0.31 and 0.06 seconds respectively.
She will have one more opportunity to secure an individual medal in the 400m medley on Sunday.
Yu’s participation has sparked debate over age eligibility, as World Aquatics typically sets a minimum age of 14. However, her qualifying times earned her a place despite being underage.
