LONDON, June 23 — Mayors from 40 cities, including London, Phoenix and Melbourne, have agreed to collaborate on curbing the rising strain that rapid expansion of data centres is placing on electricity grids, water supplies and local communities, according to city leaders.
IPOH, June 23 — A 13-year-old boy is in critical condition after allegedly falling from a building at a secondary school here yesterday.
Perak police chief Datuk Mohd Alwi Zainal Abidin said police received information about the incident at 2.49pm via the MERS 999 emergency hotline. Following the alert, police and medical personnel were dispatched to the scene to provide assistance and begin initial investigations.
He said the victim was rushed to Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital (HRPB) for treatment.
“Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the incident. At this stage, police are still recording statements from witnesses and reviewing all relevant aspects. The public is advised against speculating or sharing unverified information,” he said in a statement last night.
Mohd Alwi also called on the public to respect the privacy of the victim, his family, and the school while the investigation and treatment continue, and thanked all parties for their cooperation.
He added that police will carry out a thorough and transparent investigation, with updates to be provided from time to time. — Bernama
