ALOR GAJAH, June 3 — An 80-year-old retired policeman sustained minor head injuries after losing control of his car and crashing into a roadside eatery at Jalan Pantai Belimbing, Durian Tunggal, yesterday.

Alor Gajah district police chief Supt Ashari Abu Samah said Md Nor Md Shah suffered swelling on his head from the accident, which also caused part of the eatery’s front porch to collapse at around 2:55 pm.

“Preliminary investigations revealed that the elderly driver was traveling from Pulau Sebang to Taman Melaka Perdana when he reportedly lost control of his vehicle and veered off the road.

“Fortunately, there were no customers at the eatery during the incident. The victim was rushed to Alor Gajah Hospital for medical treatment,” Supt Ashari said in a statement. — Bernama
