‘A profound loss for the nation’: Tengku Zafrul and Rafizi express condolences on Pak Lah’s passing

KUALA LUMPUR, April 15 — Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz has offered his condolences to the family of Malaysia’s fifth Prime Minister, Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, who passed away at the National Heart Institute (IJN) last night.

KUALA LUMPUR, April 15 — Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz has offered his condolences to the family of Malaysia’s fifth Prime Minister, Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, who passed away at the National Heart Institute (IJN) last night.

In a post on X, Tengku Zafrul expressed deep sorrow over the passing, noting that Tun Abdullah's contributions to the nation will always be remembered.

“His passing is a great loss for the country. May Allah grant him a noble place in the hereafter,” he wrote.

Economy Minister Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli also conveyed his condolences to Tun Abdullah’s family, posting on X, “May his soul be blessed and placed among the faithful.”

Tun Abdullah, affectionately known as Pak Lah, passed away at 7.10pm yesterday at the age of 85.

Born on November 26, 1939, in Bayan Lepas, Penang, he served as Malaysia’s Prime Minister from October 31, 2003, to April 3, 2009, succeeding Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad. — Bernama
